Wii Internal Wavebird Receiver Mod - 2007/04/01 23:26 This thread discusses the article: Wii Internal Wavebird Receiver Mod

This guide explains how you can mount your WaveBird receiver module inside your Wii, so that it does not need to be plugged into the Gamecube controller socket or even visible from the outside of the case. The mod allows you to still use a wired controller in the modified ports just in case your batteries run out. Basic soldering skills are required and you must take apart your Wii completely, voiding your warranty.

Re:Wii Internal Wavebird Receiver Mod - 2007/04/04 23:14 You can still use any of the modded ports with normal controllers as long as you have your wavebird controller turned off. This is really useful if you have run out of batteries in your wavebird!

Re:Wii Internal Wavebird Receiver Mod - 2007/06/27 09:37 Hello, I need help please! I tried to do this mod, now my Wii turns on and then turns itself off straight away. If I loosen some screws, it works ok, then I tighten the screws and it stops working. It seems almost random which screws will make it break and which will be ok. Also, my DVD drive no longer does ANYTHING, it just sits there not spinning the disc or doing anything at all. All the cables etc are alright, so it must be something else. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

EDIT

Well I've got it starting up now no problems I just put some insulation tape over the soldering, only problem now is making my DVD drive work again.

EDIT

Yay I've got the DVD drive working! I just soldered over a fuse on the DVD drive and it works again, thank god for that!
